Barb Bondy

Barb Bondy (born Alberta, Canada) received an M.F.A. in Fine Art at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She received a B.F.A. in Visual Art at University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada and a Diploma in Photography at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.

Professor Bondy’s interests in science, art and philosophy inform her creative research which is directed primarily toward exploring through the mediums of drawing and photography the nature of and correlation between the mind and brain.

She is the recipient of an individual fellowship grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (2007) and has completed a residency at the Lillian E. Smith Center for the Arts in Georgia. Professor Bondy has exhibited her work in the U.S. and Canada including the Thames Art Gallery (Canada), Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center (Cincinnati, OH), The International Gallery of Contemporary Art, (Anchorage, AK); Area 405, (Baltimore, MD); Mobile Museum of Art, (Mobile, AL); Gallerythe, (Brooklyn, NY), University of California at Sacramento and Texas Woman’s University.
