B.A. in Art
The B.A. in Art degree is a studio-based degree. In the true spirit of a liberal arts education, this degree allows students to concentrate on art while taking courses outside their major in order to be broadly educated.
In addition to 35 hours of art studio work and 15 hours of Art History, B.A. students complete the university core (41 hours), take two semesters of a foreign language, and fulfill 19-21 hours of elective credit. Some B.A. students double major or minor in another subject, using their elective credits to fulfill the requirements of the second degree or the minor. Other students select courses that compliment art or fulfill individual areas of interest.
In an atmosphere that encourages skill development and exploration, studio faculty present a diverse and dynamic mixture of stylistic and aesthetic viewpoints that will instill intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. Students completing the B.A. in Art degree are prepared for a variety of art related careers and for advanced education.
