Prospective Students
The Department of Art, a charter member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the oldest accredited department in the Southeast, provides an undergraduate program that prepares students for careers as studio artists and a variety of art-related positions, as well as, advanced study in art. We offer a B.F.A. degree in Studio Art with concentrations in painting/drawing, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture, a B.A in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. The Department of Art also supports the College of Education’s mission to integrate arts education into its curriculum through course offerings for its majors and offers support courses for the Graphic Design Program in the College of Architecture Design and Construction.
If you are a prospective student and would like to learn more about the Department of Art at Auburn University, we encourage you to participate in our Art Shadowing Program. It offers a unique opportunity for you to shadow an Art Ambassador (an advanced art student) and discover what it is like to be an art major at Auburn University. Participation in this program allows you to sit-in on art classes with your Art Ambassador, and depending on whether you are here for one hour, half a day or a full day, to go to lunch, meet other art students, visit Biggin Gallery and to learn fist hand about all that Auburn has to offer an art student.
Please contact the Department of Art for more information.
