The College of Liberal Arts Student Eminent Society is a select 25-member group of Liberal Arts undergraduate students. The Student Eminent Society is responsible for assisting the development staff with football tailgates, preparing for and working at the Liberal Arts Golf Scholarship Scramble, helping out with events involving Liberal Arts alumni, such as Golden Eagles Reunion and Homecoming, and serving as a liaison between undergraduate students and Liberal Arts alumni.

What are the Requirements?

The Student Eminent Society will meet every other Tuesday at 6:30 pm of each month during Fall and Spring semesters. All meetings are mandatory. Officers will meet the Tuesday before each meeting to discuss topics and prepare the agenda for the next day’s meeting. There is no application fee but there will be a one-time $25 dues fee for the members who are selected for the whole year they are a part of the Student Eminent Society.

Who can Apply?

Membership on the Student Eminent Society is open to any member with the following qualifications:

* Any Liberal Arts undergraduate student who will be enrolled through the end of fall semester 2008
* Must be in good academic standing, 2.5 or higher
* Members must be dedicated to working on behalf of the students and Liberal Arts Alumni of Auburn University
* Must have completed one full semester at Auburn University

What Does the Selection Process Entail and How do I Apply?

The College of Liberal Arts Student Eminent Society is taking applications for its 2008-2009 new members. Student Eminent Society is a way for students to get involved in the College of Liberal Arts and establish connections with professors and alumni. Meetings are held every other Tuesday.

Applications are available in the College of Liberal Arts dean's suite on the second floor of the Haley Center, 2238 or online. Download the application .pdf.

The deadline for applications is March. 4 in the in CLA office by 5pm. Interviews are taking place on March 10 and 11. Also, the information sessions will be Feb. 25 in Foy 208 and Feb. 26 in Foy 203, both from 6-7pm.
