Spotlight

Students in the College of Liberal Arts are fortunate to have access to a dedicated staff of professional advisors in addition to their departmental major faculty advisors. Students should plan to meet with their advisors at least ince a semester. While we do have walk-in times Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, students should generally schedule appointments with their advisors. Students with advising emergencies should come to the Student Services Center at any time. Go here to make an appointment.

We are happy to provide students with additional important informations through the links below:

Q.What made you decide to take part in the Women's Leadership Institute?
A. One of my professors recommended me for the program. I read up on it and was amazed at all the wonderful things WLI had to offer.

Q. What were you hoping to learn from the program before it started?
A. I wanted to learn how to be comfortable with myself as a leader. Also, I wanted to learn how to balance the many responsibilities in my life.

Q. What were you surprised to learn/experience during the program?
A. I think the most surprising thing I experienced was the constant push given to me to step outside of my comfort zone. I jumped off a 35 foot pole, which I vowed not to do when I first saw it. I think I did it mostly because of the support I had from my peers and faculty. It was like the support you would receive from family, and I will cherish that moment for the rest of my life.

Q. Would you recommend the program to other students?
A. Yes! This program would help any young girl to grow mentally, spiritually, and physically. This program is what all young women need who want to become leaders in their field.

Q. Looking back on the week-long program, what would you consider to be the most valuable learning experience?
A. I think that the most valuable experience I had was realizing that I can achieve anything, whether it be in my professional life, personal life, or spiritual. I have gained more faith in myself and have learned to put more trust in those around me, because no woman can conquer the world by herself. My newly found quote for life is, "Hey, I jumped off a 35 foot pole, I can do anything!"

Any additional comments? Don't be afraid to conquer what you think is impossible!
