Message from Dean Gramberg

Welcome to Auburn University’s College of Liberal Arts. Together with the leadership of the twelve departments and the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities, I invite you to explore our college.

The College of Liberal Arts academically shapes the core of the well-rounded Auburn student through study of the humanities and the human arts. Courses and programs such as those we offer in the arts, communications, history, languages, literature, philosophy, psychology, political science, social sciences, and speech, for example, give students the opportunity to acquire tangible knowledge, while becoming critical thinkers and creative spirits who learn how educated and engaged citizens contribute more fully to the overall quality of life.

We play a central role within Auburn University and in our state and global communities. The College of Liberal Arts has much strength in its excellent faculty, their research, outreach, and teaching programs. We reach out through long distance courses, interactive web sites, and video distance learning, as well as through sponsored programs and performances. We engage with business and industry and seek continually to strengthen connections between professional, scientific, and liberal education to sustain an exciting intellectual environment for faculty, students, and the community at large.

Please explore our website to learn about the many initiatives we have underway, or contact the Dean’s Office or the offices of any of our academic departments if you have any questions.

Anne-Katrin Gramberg
Dean
