- I received my degree in journalism in March 1975. After working several years with the newspapers in Baldwin County, AL my family relocated to Dothan, AL where I went to work at Wallace Community College. I have worked in several positions during my long career in education. Among them faculty advisor for an award-winning campus newspaper, director of student activities, recruiter, and have held several positions in public relations. Currently I am outreach coordinator for the college's T.R.A.I.N. project - a $2M Department of Labor Grant to assist with training local healthcare employees. I work in recruiting high school and non-traditional students to attend the college's seven health science programs. My husband, Mickey (AU School of Education grad, spring '75) is a retired special education teacher who, after taking a year off to teach English in Japan, has returned to a part-time position as an elementary reading instructor through the Alabama Reading Initiative. Our son is married; he and his wife are parents of two wonderful grandsons. They live in Dothan and visit often. We are active members of the Dothan First United Methodist Church. We enjoy spending time with our Old English Bulldog - Dasher - and gardening at our home on 12 acres outside of Dothan.
