Jennifer Wood Adams is an associate professor in the Department of Communication & Journalism at Auburn University. A former reporter, features editor and page designer, she has worked for The News Guard in Lincoln City, Ore., The Journal in Martinsville, W.Va., and The Republic in Columbus, Ind. She also served as the publications editor for the South Carolina Press Association in Columbia, S.C. She worked as a senior project manager for Elrick and Lavidge, a marketing research firm in Kansas City, Mo. She is the co-director of the High School Journalism Workshop and the adviser for The Auburn Plainsman, the student newspaper. She received a bachelor's degree in print journalism and political science from Ball State University, a master's degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of South Carolina, and a doctoral degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina.
