Susan Waters became a member of the Communication and Journalism faculty in August 2009 after teaching five years at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, and two years at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. Her research and teaching interests include ethics, aging, public relations and service-learning. Her most recent publication examined the ethical development of persons in service-learning, non-profits, and for-profit businesses. In the past four years, she obtained research grants amounting to over $18,000 that focus on service-learning and will continue to write grants to assist with research projects. Waters is chair of the public relations division of the National Communication Association beginning in November 2009.
