National Student Speech Language & Hearing Association (HSSLHA) Community Free Screenings
NSSLHA free screenings are offered one time per quarter at the AUSHC. These screenings are provided free of charge to the community. There is not an age restriction on the screenings, but very young infants (birth to 18 months) may be better served by the High Priority Registry Screening. Individuals attending the NSSLHA screenings are screened for hearing, speech (articulation, fluency, and voice) and language (expressive and receptive). The hearing screenings are supervised by certified and licensed audiologists, while the speech & language screenings are supervised by certified and licensed speech/language pathologists. Graduate students in both audiology and speech pathology may participate in either hearing or speech/language screenings.
