About the Communication Disorders Curriculum

Auburn University’s Department of Communication Disorders offers a graduate program of study in Speech-Language Pathology and a professional doctoral degree in audiology (Au.D.). The programs have as their objectives the education of speech-language pathologists and audiologists who can function in a variety of clinical settings and, if desired, can pursue more advanced degrees. In Fall 2003 we will admit our first class of students in our recently developed Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program.

Currently, the Department of Communication Disorders trains approximately over 100 undergraduate majors and maintains a master’s degree program with about 60 graduate students. This very favorable faculty-to-student ratio provides graduate students opportunities to work closely with faculty members on clinical preparation and research projects.
