About Auburn University
The Main campus of Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama. Situated in the east-central portion of the state, where the Piedmont joins the Coastal Plain, this region experiences mild winters and otherwise moderate temperatures. University enrollment exceeds 23,000 students, and the twin cities of Auburn and Opelika have more than 100,000 residents. Large enough for adequate shopping, dining and recreational opportunities, Auburn still retains that "Small College Town" ambience. A sister campus (Auburn University - Montgomery/AUM) is located in Montgomery, 50 minutes away. Au.D. students complete some academic coursework and clinical practicum experiences at the AUM campus.
The University is located 35 minutes from Columbus Georgia; 50 minutes from Montgomery, the capital of Alabama; 90 minutes from Atlanta and Birmingham; 31/2 hours from the Florida Gulf Coast. Consequently, students find the shopping and night-life of the big cities within easy reach.
Occasional warm-weather weekends are spent basking in the sun along the white sands and turquoise water of the Gulf beaches!
