Course Sequence

In order to insure reasonable class sizes, completion of departmental prerequisite course work and adequate progress through the program for all students, entrance into our course rotation is of critical importance. Students may begin the CMDS course sequence only in Summer or Fall semesters, depending on time of application;

1. January Deadline Applicants: students who apply for CMDS admission by the January 30th deadline and are accepted into the CMDS major are expected to begin the CMDS course sequence only in the Summer Semester. These students have priority for seats in these classes and the department guarantees them admission to the courses. Therefore January applicants are making a commitment to attend in the Summer. If the student is not prepared to begin in the Summer s/he should apply by the May deadline. Students who apply in January and do not attend in Summer will not be guaranteed seats in the Fall course sequence since May applicants have priority.

2. May Deadline Applicants: students who apply for CMDS admission by the May 30th deadline and are accepted into the CMDS major are expected to begin the CMDS course sequence only in the Fall Semester. These students have priority for seats in these classes and the department guarantees them admission to the courses.
