Who are the Writing Center Consultants?
Answer: The Writing Center consultants are undergraduate and graduate students recommended by faculty members and administrators to work in the Center. They have all received special training in consulting with students about writing and reading.
How can I use the Writing Center?
Answer: To use the Writing Center services available in HC 3183, you may make an appointment through our online appointment book to work with a consultant at a particular time, or you may stop by for a walk-in tutoring session. In the RBD Library location, no appointments are allowed, but feel free to walk in. Moreover, you may access a Writing Center consultant via the chat on this website. Both the walk-in and on-line services are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
What are the Writing Center's hours?
Answer: The Writing Center location in Haley Center 3183 is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The Writing Center in RBD Library is open 6:00-10:00 p. m. Sunday–Thursday.

What should I bring when I come to the Writing Center?
Answer: In order for a consultant to help you with an assignment in the Writing Center, you need to bring a copy of the handout describing the assignment, your textbooks, and any drafts or outlines of the paper you have completed.
How long do the tutoring sessions last?
Answer: With appointments, tutoring sessions run for 30 minutes; on-line sessions and those without scheduled appointments last 15 minutes.
Do I have to pay a fee to use the Writing Center?
Answer: The Center does not charge for its services.
