Applying

This page provides you with a link to the online Graduate School Application (which allows you to fill out your application, pay the application fee, and submit your personal statement and writing sample over the Internet). Official copies of your transcripts should be sent to the graduate school. Letters of recommendation addressed to the Graduate Studies Committee should be sent to the Department. If you prefer to send your writing sample and personal statement to the Department by mail, you may do so. Correspondence should be sent to the address below:

As you begin the application process, we encourage you to contact the Coordinator of Graduate Studies first by filling out a free departmental query form; it helps us a great deal to know of your interest ahead of time, and it also allows us to provide you with additional information or updates. You may also be contacted by one of our graduate faculty who shares your interests.
