• Take Comprehensive exams over 4 areas (Sign up for ENGL 7990 if you need credit hours)

Additionally for GTAs:

• Teach ENGL 1100 (one or two sections for a total of 3 per year)

Additionally for GTAs:

• Teach ENGL 1120 (one or two sections for a total of 3 per year)

• Identify 4 exam areas; notify the CGS and submit reading lists.
• Turn in final Plan of Study.
• Do graduation check at the Graduate School.

• Receive information from the Graduate School early in the semester about graduation.
• Meet with faculty writing exams. (The names of area examiners are posted on the EGO Bulletin Board on the ninth floor).
• Submit Form 8 to the Graduate School and to the CGS.

• Ask faculty members for letters of recommendation for continued graduate education or jobs.
• Apply to PhD programs.
• Apply for jobs.
