Kimberly Jack

Kimberly Jack begins her first year as an Instructor at Auburn after earning her PhD from Loyola University Chicago in 2008. Her dissertation, entitled "Costume Rhetoric in the Works Attributed to the Pearl-Poet," examines the semiotic function of clothing and physical description in Pearl, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Patience and Cleanness. As President of the Pearl-Poet Society, she has presented in and organized numerous conference panels on these poems, and she is currently coordinating efforts to establish an on-line journal showcasing scholarship on the Pearl-Poet. She has also published on labor relations and politics in children's literature, and her other interests include Chaucer, oral performance of Middle English, and graphic novel biography.
