Registration - Graduate handbook

Registration for the following semester is conducted by telephone or website during a period set aside for graduate students during the current semester. Students already enrolled at Auburn are required to register for the next semester's classes during this time, so that accurate statistics can be projected and course offerings determined in advance. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a monetary penalty assessed by the university . The Director of Spanish Graduate Studies will be available during these registration periods to help students make course selections appropriate for their individual Plan of Study.

The normal graduate course load is to take 3 regular courses per semester. While students are preparing for the foreign language requirement or pursuing courses in a secondary graduate concentration, two of the three should be Spanish regular graduate courses. Any exception to this standard requires the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies.

Independent studies are not offered except under special circumstances and with the approval of the Graduate Director.

Students who hold a teaching assistantship during their training period must register for the course A Introduction to College-Level Spanish Teaching @ (FLSP 7090) which carries one credit and can be repeated for credit but does not count towards the degree. After the first year, you will only register for this course if you hold an assistantship during Summer semester.
