Course work at the elementary level taken on an approved study program abroad. The student should consult the Italian undergraduate advisor for an estimation of credit prior to going abroad. Course may be repeated for a maximum of 10 credit hours.
For students with little or no knowledge of Italian. Basic language skills. Exposure to culture.
Continuation of basic language skills. Exposure to culture. Fulfills the College of Liberal Arts foreign language core requirement.

Intensive practice in spoken Italian, based on texts and everyday situations, especially in contemporary Italian society. Includes review of vocabulary.
