Serving at Auburn University
as an Associate Professor of French and Italian, with a B.A. in Political
Sciences, an M.A. in French, a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures
with a minor in Mediterranean and European History, research interests
in the long eighteenth century literature, Sicilian literary works (XVIII
to XXI century), religion, psychology, material culture, and the classics,
and as a former fellow for the Center for the Humanities and the Public
Sphere at the University of Florida, Dr. Summerfield is a fervent supporter
of interdisciplinary education. Dr. Summerfield implemented the
AU LAC Program in 2004.
