LAC is a multidisciplinary program, LAC or Languages Across the Curriculum,which underscores the internationalization of courses, proficiency in a second language,and cross-departmental partnerships. Its goal is to prepare students for the cross-cultural and multi-lingual demands of a global economy, by increasing their abilities to communicate in a second language within their professional fields and by facilitating their understanding of a variety of topics from a different perspective.

By taking LAC courses you will have the chance to apply your language skills in a variety of topics of interest; you will be better able to compete in the workplace, where language proficiency and cultural awareness are real assets; you will be better prepared for graduate studies; you will have access to international perspectives, and greater cultural understanding.
Register in the content course, and in the one-credit enhancement section (FLIT3900, FRFR3900, FLGR3900). Parallel enrollment is recommended but NOT REQUIRED. If you have questions regarding your language proficiency, contact the LAC Coordinator or the language instructor prior to enrollment. To find which LAC courses are available at AU, check this site, contact the LAC Coordinator, watch for e-mails coming from the LAC Office or for in-class announcements, check the TV displays at the Haley Center throughout the academic year.
