Angers is a beautiful, historic city of approximately 250,000 inhabitants, located in the heart of what is often referred to as le jardin de la France (the garden of France), so-called because of its mild climate, numerous castles, and formal flower gardens. This region is also renowned for the purity of the French language spoken here. Many cultural activities are available in and around the city, including visits to monuments, museums, the annual Festival d’Anjou, (an internationally famous theater festival during the month of July), and other interesting tourist sites. Paris is a short 1 1/2 hours away by train. Info about the city: http://www.angers.fr.
