Katherine Bowling, a Minor in Italian Studies In high school, I did not have the opportunity to study Italian. When I came to college, I jumped at the chance to take the Italian language courses offered at the school. Choosing this minor gave me the chance to learn from my teacher, classmates, and fellow citizens of the world. The Italian language will be useful if I become involved in international diplomacy as a career, or if I simply wanted to enjoy an enhanced reading experience as an adult. Study abroad opened my mind up to new perspectives, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity. I feel confident that were it not for my experiences in my Italian Studies curriculum, I would not have discovered many things about myself and those around me.
