GENERAL INFORMATION

Auburn University will offer an intensive academic program at the Catholic University of Paris (Institut Catholique de Paris) from July 1 to July 29 in Paris, France for undergraduate and graduate students and teachers of French. No previous knowledge of French is required, and the foreign language requirement may be fulfilled in this session.  Students may earn from 6 to 8 credit hours.

LOCATION: Paris, France

Paris is a beautiful and majestic city of history, culture, intellect, leisure, fashion, commerce, and government. A vast choice of over 1,800 monuments, 170 museums, 145 theaters, and 380 cinemas await her visitors. Many of the riverbanks and neighborhoods retain their village atmosphere and invite the visitor to stroll and sightsee. By day or by night, you can experience the special ambience of the various Parisien quartiers as well as the many parks and gardens throughout the city. This program is situated in the 6th arrondissement of Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s, renowned for its rich historic and artistic heritage. Adjacent to the Quartier Latin, the Jardin de Luxembourg, and Montparnasse, this left bank neighborhood offers proximity to a wealth of artistic, cultural, and intellectual experience. 

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

Students will be required to obtain a short-stay student VISA according to the regulations of the French Government. VISA paperwork is due to the AU Office of International Education (OIE), 201 Hargis Hall by May 1, in order to get the VISA prepared by the French consulate in the US. This means students will need to have a passport in hand by April 15. If you do not have a PASSPORT: Please check http://travel.state.gov for the nearest local passport office and forms. Application for a United States passport should be made at least 120 days in advance of your departure date.
