Alumni Biographical Profile Submission
Thank you for your interest in submitting a biographical profile to be posted on the Alumni Emeriti section of the website. Ideally, such a profile will highlight your connections to Auburn's History Department and relate any professional accomplishments, contact information, and personal information you wish to include.
Along with serving as a virtual meeting place for History alums and a means of keeping in touch, we hope the Alumni Emeriti section of the website will give anyone interested in the Department, including prospective students, applicants for any open faculty positions, and prospective donors sense of the richness of Auburn's extended departmental family. The Alumni Emeriti directory should also serve as a valuable networking resource.
If you are willing to be included in this new on-line directory of Auburn History alumni, Professors Emeriti, and friends of the Department, will you please submit the information requested below the line further down this page that you authorize us to post on-line?*
The quickest way to submit biographical blurbs and any revisions or updates is by e-mail to Carey Cauthen at ccauthen@auburn.edu. You may send blurbs as e-mail messages (plain text or html-enriched), or as Word, WordPerfect, plain text (.txt), or rich text file (.rtf) attachments.
Alternately, you can send your bio blurb or any updates by conventional mail c/o Carey Cauthen, Department of History, 310 Thach Hall, Auburn University, Auburn, AL 36849-5207.
Digital photos - portraits or casual snapshots - attached to your electronically-submitted bio blurbs are welcome, as are reprints of good-old-fashioned photos sent via conventional mail. (Please indicate if you wish to have any conventional photo prints you mail returned to you after they are scanned, and offer any guidance on any necessary cropping.)
If you have any questions about electronic or conventional submission, please e-mail Carey Cauthen or phone her at (334) 844-6770.
Submissions should include only information that you authorize us to post on-line.* Whenever possible, they should include:
Mailing Address(es), Home, Work, or both:
Telephone number(s):
E-mail:
Biographical "blurb" in the form of one or more paragraphs highlighting your connections to Auburn, educational background and degrees earned (at Auburn and elsewhere), and any professional accomplishments and personal information you'd like to share. Current faculty and graduate student "bios" available from any of the hyperlinked names in the Faculty, Graduate Student, or Alumni Emeriti directories may provide useful examples. Faculty and Graduate Student profiles are written in the third person, but please feel free to employ the first person as you compose your own Alumni profile if that feels less artificial.

As any contact information and biographical details you provide will be viewable by the general public once posted to the internet, please include only that information that you authorize to be posted on-line on the website. Please contact Carey Cauthen if you have any questions. |
