10/27/09 Author Gin Phillips on Campus for Public Reading

Writer Gin Phillips will have a public reading at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the auditorium of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. Phillips will read from her award-winning novel, "The Well and the Mine," set in Depression-era Carbon Hill, Ala., a coal-mining town populated by hard-working people making do in a hard-scrabble life.
