Laura Newland Hill is associate editor
of the Encyclopedia
of Alabama. She holds a M.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee (1998) and a B.A. in general studies (humanities emphasis) from Jacksonville State University (1983).
She has been the communications manager for the East Tennessee Community Design Center and written marketing and public relations materials for Home and Garden Television, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston Ballet, and Endicott College. Her masters thesis on public relations and the World Wide Web was published as an article in Public Relations Review (Spring 2000).
