Pat Kaetz is managing editor of the Encyclopedia of Alabama. Dr. Kaetz joined the editorial staff in June 2008. He previously served as editor of the Phi Kappa Phi Forum, the quarterly magazine of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, a position he held from 1993 until 2008. He also served as editor of Phi Kappa Phi's Web-based magazine Honor Cord from 2005 until 2008. During his tenure with the Forum he was a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of English.

A native of Alabama, Dr. Kaetz received his undergraduate degree in English from Auburn University and his MA from the University of Alabama. He completed his PhD at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he studied under Louis Rubin, a well-known author and literary scholar.
