Carol Ann Bachl Dennis received a BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in American History from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, and an MS in Foundations of Education with a concentration in European History from Troy University at Dothan, Alabama. Her focus area in the Doctoral program at Auburn reflects an eclectic blend of the Atlantic World combined with the persistence of European culture in America. Her graduate committee in the Doctoral program includes Dr. Donna Jean Bohanan (committee chair), Dr. Ruth Crocker, Dr. Ralph Kingston, and Dr. Anthony Gene Carey.
In spring of 2009 she presented an essay on considerations of material culture and ritual as a means of maintaining identity while living in more remote parts of the English American colonies for the annual Phi Alpha Theta Graduate Student Colloquium at Auburn. Additional research interests include religious identity as inspiration and motivation and the rise of the planter class in the American South.
Ms. Dennis is a member of Phi Alpha Theta and Gamma Beta Phi honor societies. She was the Outstanding Graduate Student in History at Troy University Dothan for academic year 2005. She is in The National Dean's List 2004-2005 and was nominated for 2005-2006. Ms. Dennis served as Vice President of Phi Alpha Theta for academic year 2008-2009 and is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of History at Auburn.
