Undergraduates may wish to consult the History Department web page "What You Can Do with a History Degree." Students interested in pursuing graduate degrees in history should consult with history professors in their areas of interest and be sure to review the article "Inscribing Your Future: The Trials and Tribulations of Applying to Graduate School [in History]." It may also be useful to visit the Department's "Career Opportunities with a Graduate Degree in History" web page, which includes helpful links to the History Department Finder and the American Historical Association's Guide to History Doctoral Programs in the United States. Both are excellent resources to utilize for research when considering applying to specific graduate programs in history and evaluating their particular strengths.

The following websites and print resources offer valuable guidance and information about career possibilities for history majors, and about the job search and the history profession in general. If you are interested in a law career contact the Pre-Law adviser, Dorothy Wells-Littleton at (334) 844-6166 in Haley Center 7002, or visit Auburn University Pre-Law Scholars Program.
