Ability to read music well
Ability to adjust one’s intonation to that of the ensemble.
Flexibility of schedule for rehearsal times
Good Attitude and reliability.
Ownership of a quality instrument in good condition.
The group will consist of as few as four to as many as thirty members depending on group numbers and ability level. The Trumpet Ensemble was recently invited to perform as a guest at the 2005 Western Carolina Trumpet Festival. Future plans are to attend and perform at the National Trumpet Competition, and future International Trumpet Guild Conferences within the United States.
The group rehearsal schedule will vary per semester to fit the schedule of the students within the ensemble. The repertoire consists primarily of original compositions written for the trumpet ensemble as well as transcriptions of preexisting material to provide the ensemble a wide array of music to perform.
Anyone wishing to perform with the trumpet ensemble for either the fall or spring semester should contact Dr. Ramon Vasquez (vasqurf@auburn.edu) regarding your involvement and the ensembles first rehearsal day, time and location.
