The Music Minor

15 hours (arrange for a performance audition with applied music instructor)

Minor in Music Performance - The music minor is for students who want more study in their performance medium than they will get in the performance group experience, but at the sam time, do not want to pursue music as a career through the major in music performance or music education. The 15-semester hour minor consists of four semesters of private study, two semesters of music theory and skills, one semester of music history, and one semester of conducting. An audition is required.

  • MUSI 3510 or 3520 Music History I or II (3 hrs.)
  • MUSI 3610 or 3630 Conducting I (2 hrs.)
  • MUAP 1310 Performance (1 hr.)
  • MUAP 1410 Performance (1 hr.)
  • MUAP 2310 Performance (1 hr.)
  • MUAP 2410 Performance (1 hr.)
  • MUSI 1000 Performance Attendance (4 semesters) (0 hrs.)
