Advising

Liberal Arts Advisors

All students in the College of Liberal Arts have a liberal arts advisor.  Students are assigned an advisor based on their last name.  To find out who your advisor is and to make an appointment go to http://media.cla.auburn.edu/cla/advisement/index.cfm.

Departmental Advisor

The departmental advisor is Ms. Gail Holmes.  She provides advising to both pre-major students and students in the HADM major.  To make an appointment with Ms. Gail Holmes please email her at gmh0003@auburn.edu.  The email should include:

  • your full name
  • the reason for the appointment
  • when you are available (please provide several dates and times).

Ms. Gail Holmes is the best person to consult for several topics, including:

  • Admission into the HADM major
  • Signature for routine forms
  • Course scheduling and registration questions
  • Deadline information
  • General education requirements
  • Information on minors
  • Information on University resources
  • Transfer credits questions
  • Course substitutions questions
  • Graduation requirements
  • Review of HADM audit

HADM advisors:

If you are a declared HADM major and you have questions concerning
graduate school, curriculum changes, career opportunities, or HA
coursework in general you need to make an appointment to see your
HADM advisor.

A student’s advisor is based on the first letter of the student’s
last name.
Dr. Mark Burns (burnsma@auburn.edu) is the advisor for A-M
Dr. René McEldowney (mceldrp@auburn.edu) is the advisor
for N-Z

If you have questions concerning internships please contact Jennifer
Johnson
at hindmjl@auburn.edu.
