Honors
Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, has a chapter at Auburn. Initiations are conducted two times a year and applications are available in the departmental office. The honor society recognizes the outstanding undergraduate student at its annual awards banquet.
Students in political science may do honors work either through the Auburn University or the departmental honors program. Honors work frequently involves a project supervised by a faculty member. Successful students receive recognition on their diplomas and transcripts.
The Department awards the C.N. Fortenberry Scholarship to an outstanding major who has a superior academic record both in high school and at Auburn University. Other scholarship awards are also available. The departmental undergraduate advisor has information about these awards.
