Daniel J. Svyantek received his degree from the University of Houston in 1987. He was a faculty member in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology Ph.D. program at The University of Akron from 1987 to 2003. He is currently a faculty member in the Psychology Department of Auburn University where he is Program Director of the Industrial/ Organizational Psychology Ph.D. program. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Applied Behavioral Sciences, and Human Relations. He has consulted with several organizations on organizational change projects in the areas of problem-solving, compensation systems and implementing work teams. He is particularly interested in the development of new evaluation methods and how the practical value of research is defined within applied contexts.
