Prerequisites

Because of the large number of applications received each year for a relatively small number of openings in the entering class, the I/O program has established the following guidelines for admission to graduate study. (See Program Statistics for a statistical profile of applicants admitted during those years). Research or applied experiences may compensate for deficiencies in grade point averages, GRE scores, etc. Minority and foreign student credentials are individually reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

Applicants should have completed 20 quarter/14 semester hour credits in theoretical or experimental psychology and quantitative methods. Transcripts are evaluated for deficiencies in basic psychology courses.

Undergraduate grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) 3.0
Psychology grade point average 3.25
Graduate grade point average 3.25
GRE General Test (Verbal + Quantitative) 1100
