Why volunteer your time in psychology?
Volunteering your time at a community agency can help to increase your chances of getting into graduate school and can be a wonderful way for you to “give back” to the community. Auburn University Program for Students with Disabilities
The Program for Students with Disabilities has several different kinds of student volunteer activities available including reading texts onto audiocassettes, walking with students to class, and assisting with the Dixie Wheelchair Regional Games. Camp ASCCA
Camp ASCCA volunteers work under experienced staff in assisting campers with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and mental retardation in various areas of the camping experience. Camp Civitan-Easter Seals

Camp Smile-A-Mile

Lee County Youth Development Center

Project Uplift
Project Uplift volunteers work as mentors and role models for underprivileged children around the Lee County area. Each volunteer is assigned a child with whom he or she is responsible to spend time. Call 844-4430.
Sav-A-Life
Save-A Life volunteers are asked to perform pregnancy tests and counsel women who are pregnant. Call 821-2112.
The Little Tree Learning Center
A preschool program designed for children with autism and their peer mentors. Volunteers may sign up to work for course credit or simply for volunteer experience. Contact Holly Rogers or Kim Smith at (334) 826-1847.
