Susan D'Antoni
D’Antoni has more than twenty years executive experience in association management, organized medicine and the health care arena. During her professional career, she has worked in many aspects of the health care industry - in hospitals, for physicians, as a health care consultant, and as an association executive. Before relocating to Maryland, D’Antoni served as Executive Director of Orleans Parish Medical Society (New Orleans, Louisiana), a professional association for physicians, residents and medical students in training in New Orleans. From 1997 – 2006, she had executive responsibility for all facets of the association. She was the Executive Director of the New Orleans association at the time of Hurricane Katrina, and following her family’s ten-week evacuation to Alabama, returned to New Orleans to assist the physicians in rebuilding their practices, and to support the organization’s efforts to participate in the rebuilding process. For her efforts and commitment, Ms. D’Antoni was awarded Honorary Membership in the Orleans Parish Medical Society in August, 2006. Ms. D’Antoni is now Executive Director of the Montgomery County Medical Society located in Maryland, and Director of Publications for The Maryland State Medical Society. Ms. D’Antoni is an active member of the American Association of Medical Society Executives. She has served a three-year term on the Board of Directors of that organization and served as Chairman of the Council on Collaboration and Membership Committee. She is the chair of the County CEO section, and is a member of the Annual Conference Planning Committee for the second year. She has been actively involved at a national level in the efforts of the American Medical Association. She was honored as one of CityBusiness’s Women of the Year for 2003 in New Orleans. She is married to Edward, who is the Director of Planned Giving and Major Gifts for the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. They have two children, Evan and Christina, and reside in Potomac, Maryland.
